dream cat

I painted this a while ago from a picture in an old book about siamese cats by some dude named Ron Reagan (see below). It doesn't look like a siamese cat... but anyways... It is my perfect dream cat. I would love more than anything to have a little black cat like this.
But Andrew is allergic, so I can only have my painting.

a good sign?

At the end of the last day of the coe&waito final studio sale a huge rainbow formed across the sky. It took three shots to capture the whole thing. More studio sale images to come.

Japan yé-yé

1964 Japanese clothing brand 'Renown' commercials. Amazing.

and live with Sylvie Vartan - one of my favourite yé-yé girls.

I'm going to post more yé-yé girls. I've found some amazing videos on YouTube and some other rad vintage Japanese ads.

first thing's first

I wanted to start by posting a little painting I did a few months ago that I hope will be the start of a series. Judging from the depth of my obsession with the subject matter and the endless hours I have lost searching geeky mineral specimen collectors' sites for source imagery, I think this may actually pan out. I'm hoping to do a new one this weekend.
