new neighbourhood kitty

This little kitty was checking me out while I was taking pictures in the backyard this evening. It still has big puffy kitten paws. It wouldn't stay still long enough for me to focus clearly (I didn't have my lens with autofocus on the camera) or get a good shot of it's face. I hope it comes back to see me again! Tragically, I am a MAJOR cat lover and I can't have a cat because Andrew is allergic. Every time I see a cat (especially an adorable little sweetheart like this) it breaks my heart a little bit.

p.s. this post is dedicated to Anabela

  1. Oh my goodness! What a beaut! She even has a little bit of eyeliner. Awww. Thank you so much for this!

I don't think I've mentioned that Geoff and I refer to our yard as the Cat Highway. There are a few holes under the fence back there and some days we'll look out and see some cats hanging out in our yard. It's pretty nice! One time we saw a bit of a cat fight, another time two of them were sitting on the fence together... cat theatre!

  2. This post makes me so happy! I am glad I am not the only one who is snapping pictures of cats that are not my own. Really-how can you not? They are just so cute (this one is especially adorable)!

  3. This cat is so pretty. I love the first picture.

and carly, I know how you feel. I've wanted a kitty my whole life, but my mother is deathly allergic. when I was little she actually bought me a kitty hoping that her allergies would go away, and I named her pansy. And then two weeks later we had to give her away. it was just so sad.

  4. We have three cats, and often we can't have many of our friends over without pumping them full drugs, as so many of them are allergic (it totally sucks, since I love throwing a good party).

Even so, I freak out over the neighbor kitties that traipse through our yard. So you are totally not alone.

  6. Oh Carly, what a darling neighborhood cat! I know how you feel, my Dad is allergic so growing up I couldn't have any pets. Now I live in an apt that doesn't allow them. Maybe I'll bend the rules...

  8. I am allergic to cats too....but we still have 2 cats. I guess I am not super allergic, probably not as allergic as andrew? But I do get really bothered when the seasons change, and when they shed a lot.

Of course, I didn't find out I was allergic until we got our first cat! I can't part with them now!
